Is Boxing something that can imrpove my confidence?

I want to be stronger, have more confidence and protect others. I%26#039;m a freshman 5%26#039;3 and kids in my school think they%26#039;re so tough act like everyone wants to be with them and I%26#039;m sick and tired they treat others with no respect and I%26#039;m getting to the point where fist have to be swung and someone needs to step up and say hey thats enough so will boxing help me? Boxing traing?|||Yes, definitely

Boxing will boost your confidence way up!!!! You don%26#039;t have to fight bullies, just to show you are better than them. But if they start pushing you, you are going to make them your bitches. JK

There is no need to prove you will beat them up, only fight if that%26#039;s the only choice left.|||Go for it it will help, but don%26#039;t pick a fight wait till they pick on you, chances are if they know you do boxing they wont pick a fight or they will want you to be in there gang|||In my opinion, training as a boxer so you can pick street fights is never a good idea. You won%26#039;t find a good coach who will train any athlete for this reason. I doubt seriously that the best way of dealing with bullies is to lower yourself to their level and start slugging.|||My son any sport may improved confidence. However you must practice in order to be good, like an old saying. No paint no gain. Just go to the gin and practice until you get better. All is to you. The button line is practice , practice.|||Boxing is one of many physical activities you can take part in that will boost your confidence. Here%26#039;s what you need to think about before you start down this road. At 5%26#039;3 I%26#039;m assuming you are a bit smaller. You need to look at the situation realistically. Are you really going to learn boxing to such an extent so quickly that it will help you in your current situation? Chances are by the time you learn to box well enough for it to make a difference, the situations you are so hurt and frustrated by will be long gone and have replaced themselves with new different %26quot;problems.%26quot; You need to have more respect for the science than that, and more respect for yourself. Take up boxing! I would encourage anyone to do so, but do it for you. Do it because you want to make yourself better. I guarantee you that if you give it your all and really stay focused on the physical AND the mental aspects of the sport. You will in time see that you forget about being so angry and forget about the revenge you feel, and you will begin to love what you%26#039;re learning and see that one of the biggest things boxing will teach you is the respect and self control to not fight. At the end of almost any boxing match you see, you will see two fighters hug or embrace because of the mutual respect they have for one another. If you do not respect the sport and the science, you will quickly be reminded why you should have.|||yea i think it will help...but i think any kind of sport will boost your confidence|||Any sport will improve your confidence. Do not take up boxing to get into fights. That is the wrong reason plus it is dangerous today to get into fist fights because many don%26#039;t settle their differences that way. Look at Columbine.
