Express your point of view on boxing or any other dangerous kind of sport?

Boxing is already banned in certain countries because of the risk of brain damage from boxing injuries. Despite the risks, there has been an increase in the number of people who have taken up the sport as a form of exercise, including women. |||How many boxers can u name that are retired and that have severe brain damage? NONE|||ermmmm how about michael watson, courtesy of chris eubank Report Abuse
|||i kick box which isnt as bad as boxing but its a great workout. my boyfriend is semi-pro boxer and every time he gets in the ring it scares me to death. it is entertaining and t is dangerous at the same time. i dont think it needs to be banned, there is head gear that works rather well. i llike boxing a lot better when my boyfriend isnt fighting, but that is probably how anyone feels when their loved ones are in the ring. it is def. dangerous on a level, but if people took the time to make rules pertaining to safety such as head gear, the danger level would most certainly decrease.|||im 16, i think it is absolutely crazy if boxing has been banned in some countries etc.. i used to box and you get an enjoyment out of it.

a tough day at school and i would take myself down to the boxing gym and take it out on the punchbags.

when you got 2 go in the ring and spa with opponents you kinda got a buzz.. well i did. You could almost feel the adreneline pumping round in your blood streem!

haha, i think its good that people experience these tough physical sports.. life aint all going to lovely.

Also when i boxed i never had anything happen to me, not even a nose bleed ;)

sooner people take up these kind of sports than hang on corners drinking cider.. or grafiti walls with paint!

its good to have interests... whatever they are :)

ha.. hope this is okk.. |||I%26#039;m a woman and I%26#039;m an amature boxer. It is not as dangerous as people think. In amature, we wear a full range of protective gear (even %26quot;cups%26quot; for the ladies!) A good coach will throw in the towel if he sees you are overwhelemed in a fight and a good ref will stop the fight if it gets too brutal. Most people don%26#039;t realize that boxers are not really fighitng opponents. The fight is with themself. The level of fitness and training and mental preparation you need is a HUGE challenge. All your bad habits, (lazy, impatient, not willing to learn) will hurt you in the ring. It%26#039;s a constant battle to better yourself. Once you work out your own personal deamons, you test your new and better self in a stressful condition - a fight. It%26#039;s not for everyone, but it great fun and a wonderful challenge for those of us that do it. Besides, people get hurt and die in golf. It%26#039;s all relative.|||I believe that the danger in a sport is subjective. You shouldn%26#039;t be involved in a sporting event that could cause too much physical harm. I wouldn%26#039;t box, but i wouldn%26#039;t make it illegal. Some people want their brains knocked out, so, as typical democrats, we shouldn%26#039;t infringe on a person%26#039;s right to destroy themselves.|||How is boxing dangerous.. not being funny but get some statistics of how many people have brain damage from boxing, it isn%26#039;t dangerous, boxing isn%26#039;t about punching it is about parrying and avoiding punches as well as throwing them. Why isn%26#039;t Kung Fu banned ? They use weapons !|||They should just use a head shield. The funny thing is UFC is much more violent but it doesn%26#039;t seem to have the long term bad effects as boxing. I think UFC is the future of the fighting world but i always prefer a real sport like hockey where it is more than just hurting someone.|||Karate is a dangerous sport|||ewe boxing makes me sick
