How much will a taxi cost from JFK to Times square area on boxing day?

We are arriving in JFK on Boxing day at around 5pm. I have read that it is a flat rate of $45, however will it be more on a bank holiday. Will it still be easy to get a taxi? We will be going to the Royalton Hotel which is quite close to Times square.|||That%26#039;s just Dec 26th in the US. If you don%26#039;t have much luggage I would suggest taking the airtrain from JFK Jamaica station, then take the Long Island railroad (LIRR) to Penn station and then get a cab there (very short ride) Cab fare from JFK can be pricey. Or - take the subway from Jamaica station straight to Times Square. You will need the E train. Just stay on that until it reaches the times square station.

It sounds more complicated than it is. It%26#039;s very easy, even for a first time tourist.

Or as someone already said - grab a shuttle.

By airtrain %26amp; LIRR - about $11 total,

By airtrain %26amp; subway - $8.50

By cab - $50 with tip

Shuttle - about $20.|||hi, i lived in new york for a while so i know that they dont celebrate boxing day, you will be charged the flat rate but if you have lots of luggage it may be extra also dont forget ton tip!!!!there are taxi attendants outside the airport to make sure you arent ripped of with the price, dont go near anyone offering you a limo for the price of a taxi. too dangerous, it will be easy to get a taxi dont worry have a fab time i am so jealous!!|||There are plenty of taxis from JFK, so you don%26#039;t have to worry about that. The price will still remain at $45 plus tip, so you don%26#039;t have to worry about that either. In terms of traffic or around your hotel, perhaps the easiest way to scope it out is to call the Royalton Hotel?

You can also check out http://www.taxifarefinder.com . It%26#039;s a pretty useful site.|||My friend, the cab fare from JFK to Times Square is $45 flat fee, regard of time, day and holiday. Also it easy to get a cab at JFK. They usually wait outside the airport terminal to pick passenger.

Good luck|||once you get here, don%26#039;t call it %26quot;Boxing Day%26quot;. all we know it as is the %26quot;Day after Christmas%26quot;, or, if you find someone who%26#039;s up on his/her religion, it%26#039;ll be %26quot;St. Stephen%26#039;s Day%26quot;.

otherwise, welcome, and have a great time!|||I dont know that boxing day is considered a %26quot;bank holiday%26quot; here in the US. And, it will be relatively easy to get a taxi from the airport, they sort of just line up. |||$45.00. That%26#039;s roughly $52 with a 15% tip. It is about 18.8 miles. There is a $45.00 flat fare for trips from JFK Airport to Manhattan.

Never heard of boxing day in US. |||$45 + tolls + tip

Yes it%26#039;ll be easy - there are always a ton of cabs at JFK|||It should cost about $75-$80|||take a shuttle instead, only like $17 http://www.goairlinkshuttle.com/|||we don%26#039;t celebrate boxing day in the us
