How do you stop yourself from beat boxing?

It isn%26#039;t like I am good or anything... I start beat boxing when I start searching on google.|||LOL

make different noises with your mouth.

(lightly)|||Play music--or try Merciless Pacifist%26#039;s suggestion (especially since it%26#039;s hilarious). Along the same lines, try the old rubberband method of training yourself: place a rubberband on your wrist (like a bracelet), and snap it every time you catch yourself beat boxing. It works on a principle called association. Whenever two things happen one-after-the-other, the brain assumes the two are %26quot;associated%26quot; (hence the name), and attributes qualities from the second thing to the first. In experiments, the experimenter (whose name escapes me) would ring a bell before feeding a group of dogs. After a while, the ringing of the bell was enough to get the dogs to salivate (like they would at the thought of dinner). In humans, I%26#039;ve read of a condition where one who%26#039;s allergic to bees will swell up at the sight of one (as though they%26#039;ve been stung). In this case, the mind associates bees with painful allergic swelling to the point that it produces painful swelling at the sight of a bee--even though it%26#039;s actually the STING of a bee that would cause the swelling! For the rubberband, your brain would associate beat boxing during Google with pain, which you/it dislike (I assume), which means your brain would learn to dislike beatboxing during Google. It%26#039;s called %26quot;aversion therapy,%26quot; and you probably knew most of this already!|||Punch yourself.
